Hey guys!

I'm back for good.
Yes, meaning I will be checking these forums daily, I'll be on IRC, and everything.
I'd give more info on my absence and general things about my life, but I'll save it for another time when I feel like it.

I have talked with Jazz as well as a few other of you loyal oldfags ;) and we all agree that Cruels.net needs to refocus and reform. Therefore, we will be changing many things, but we won't abandon the forum we already have, we'll simply prune that which is dead and add that which people want.
We're still brainstorming many things, and we'll be obviously needing your input as well.

We're overall a programming community, but we aren't a mere programming forum since we have a more specific focus. Before, our focus was on Runescape and cheating, which is why most of our coding went towards that. But we are officially killing Runescape now. :D Obviously, topics may still involve Runescape, but it is not our focus.

So what IS our focus?
Let's hear ideas.

Great news!

Cruels.net now has online streaming radio. Thanks to our DJ Stuart all you people can listen to some tunes while you code, tinker or just sit back and relax.

Stuart wont be the only one sharing his music with you guys, I'll also be DJing from time to time. But we'd like some more people to DJ, if you're interested send me a PM.


Sit back, relax and listen to some of our music.
We also take requests, but info on that will come a bit later once we sort a few more details out.

With our proper database restored, and some members posting away it's time we all focused on bringing some life to Cruels.net. 

 

Ways you can help to bring in some people;

  • We're looking for some affiliates. Similar websites to our own that would like to share links.
  • Promotion. Drop a link here or there on other websites/forums. Be careful not to submit these too many times as it might be against their rules.
  • Be more active. People like a forum that's active and constantly moving.

 

Adverts

I've put some Google ads up here and there. They're generally non-obtrusive, wont have pop-ups / pop-unders, and don't have bright flashy 'You are the 100,000,000th person, click me for a virus' ads. I'd appreciate it if you could disable your ad-blockers on this domain, and perhaps show your support and help raise some money to bring bigger and better things in for the community.

 

PPST

Something totally new to this community. Pay-Per-Source/Tutorial. While I'm still working out the specifics the basics are;

  • You create source/tutorial that isn't available on the internet (No copy/paste).
  • Acquire points.
  • Cash out.

 

Re-Opening of Dev.Cruels

Although it's impossible to do it currently, Dev.Cruels will be re-opened and a development team will work endlessly, day and night, to improve Cruels.net.

 

 

There are a few more ideas that are still in the planning stage and they will be put up when they are ready for peer-review.
